Diver6 System (Gen 2)
Rugged and Reliable, the Diver6 System meets the environmental elements that divers encounter every day. IP-65 Rated and MIL-STD-810G, the system operates in the most extreme conditions and provides the user with consistent reliable information and data. Learn more about the system components below.
Rugged Tablet
Latitude Rugged PCs can handle any condition they’re put in. The tablet is drop-tested from 4 feet, temperature-tested from -20F to 145F, and is IP-65 rated, for maximum protection against dust, dirt, and water ingress. With hot swappable dual batteries and improved thermal management, the tablet maintains peak performance while offering military-grade durability and performs well in the wet environment normally associated with diving. The sunlight-readable touch screen is highly reliable and accurate, giving the divemaster a quality view of the divers in the water. The unit is equipped with an onboard GPS with better than half-meter accuracy.
The tablet is loaded with ENC charts customized to your normal operations area. Additional charts and updates can be loaded at any time.
Diver6 is a fully self-contained system. The system requires no additional sensors or instrumentation (heading, GPS, depth) to operate.

Topside Modem
The topside modem, built around a robust broadband spread spectrum signaling scheme, is a multi-purpose acoustic transponder beacon capable of simultaneously tracking up to 14 other asset positions while undertaking bi-directional data exchange. The unit is small and lightweight (720g, 1.59 lbs) and can be mounted from a fixed location (e.g. dock) or the supervisor vessel.
The unit is powered by the Diver6 Battery Box and is hardwired or Bluetooth-connected to the Rugged Tablet with reliable communication.

Diver Modem
The Diver Modem consists of the Diver Beacon and Diver Control Module (DCM). The beacon communicates with the surface transmitting and receiving data. The DCM provides power to a DiveCAN connection to communicate with Shearwater products and devices.
The beacon is attached to the diver's air tank, and the DCM is placed on the dive belt or any secure location that does not interrupt the diver's ability to perform his task.
Both units account for less than 3 lbs. of weight in the water

Shearwater Equipment
Diver6 integrates with the Shearwater Petrel and NERD 2 dive computers as well as single/dual tank pressure sensors and the wireless SWIFT transmitter. Rigorous testing to the highest standards, commitment to safety, and proven reliability over thousands and thousands of dives have earned Shearwater divers' trust worldwide.
Diver6 adds new features to the Shearwater equipment that works exclusively with the Diver6 system.
RECALL - A diver receives a message from the topside to return to craft. Range and bearing information is provided to the diver for craft location. The data is updated with each new modem transmission.
ASSIST - A divemaster can provide range, bearing, and depth information for one diver to assist another diver.
DISTRESS - A diver who needs help can notify the divemaster of his or her situation. The system will provide the distressed diver with bearing and range back to the surface vessel.
RETURN HOME - A diver wishing to return to the surface vessel can issue this request to obtain the bearing and range of the surface vessel.
SEND ASSIST - A diver can issue a request to the divemaster to obtain the assistance of another diver.
Tank Pressure - Diver tank pressures are transmitted to the divemaster giving a clearer picture of each diver’s air supply.
